Scholarships

Grady College scholarships are awarded each academic year through an application process that opens each spring. Scholarship recipients are announced in early May, and scholarship funds are awarded in August and applied to the fall semester. Grady scholarships are made possible through generous contributions to the College that recognize and encourage academic and professional achievement.

For Spring 2017, the application period will be Monday, February 20 through Friday, March 3 at 5 p.m.

The scholarship application will be available at grady.uga.edu in the Site Directory during these dates only. The application and an accompanying résumé must be submitted in hard copy to room 309-J Journalism no later than 5 p.m. on March 3.

Currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students in Grady, as well as pre-majors enrolled at UGA, are eligible to apply. Students graduating in Spring or Summer 2017 are NOT eligible to apply. Students must be enrolled full-time in Fall 2017 to be eligible for an award. Scholarships are credited to student accounts in August for the Fall 2017 semester. Students are encouraged to review all information about the awards. A general application guarantees consideration for any of the scholarships for which an applicant qualifies, so it is not necessary to apply for specific scholarships by name. Competition can be intense, and strong academic achievement and other credentials may be necessary for serious consideration. A general application must be submitted for consideration each academic year, as scholarships are not automatically renewed.

The Grady College scholarship program is coordinated with the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid. Students who have questions about how a Grady College scholarship could impact their financial aid programs may call 706-542-6147 or visit the Financial Aid Office in Room 220, Holmes/Hunter Academic Building. Students may also find information on the OSFA Web site at www.uga.edu/osfa and the Grady College Web site at www.grady.uga.edu.

Grady College scholarships are administered by the Scholarships and Awards Committee through the Director of Undergraduate Services in room 312 Journalism.
