Students graduate from the Department of Entertainment & Media Studies with a deep understanding of the critical role digital communication networks play in our world and the professional skills they need to make their voices heard in the global media dialog. Whether you are interested in entertainment media or the world of news and information, our department will show you how to tell the stories that are important to you and how to share those stories with others through television, radio, film, online and mobile networks.

The Grady College offers two graduate degrees: the Master of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication (M.A.) and the Ph.D. in Mass Communication (Ph.D.). Academic Program

The Department of Entertainment & Media Studies (formerly Telecommunications) offers one major: Mass Media Arts.

Graduates find careers in the film, television, radio, cable, satellite, online, mobile and other new media industries. Majors work in writing, content production, programming, distribution, management, sales and research, primarily in the creative and entertainment industries. Graduates of the Department of Telecommunications currently can be found at CNN, Turner Entertainment Networks, Fox Business News, Nielsen Media Research, Simmons Media Research, and The Weather Channel.
